Description

51 air cleaner 993 1953-1957 Chevy inside Rear View Mirror

From 1953-1957  General Motors used this rear view mirror on all its Chevy cars,  2 door Sedans, 4 door Sedan, the convertible, the station wagon and the Sedan Delivery.

It possibly was used on Pontiac and Oldsmobile of those years.

On the original cars the stainless backed mirrors were found on the Sport Coupe and the convertible only.  The sedans and wagon used mirrors that had a painted back.  Today this mirror is only being made with the stainless back.

What I am offering here for sale is a new reproduction chrome back rear view mirror.  It is new and beautiful and you will be happy with this item.

One other piece of information.  On the Sport Coupe, sometimes called the Hardtop,  this mirror was mounted on the dash board attached to a chrome stand.

Also just for your information.

The primary difference between this mirror, used on the 1953-57 and the 1949-1952 mirror is the length of the threaded shaft.  On the 1949-1952 the threaded shaft is 1 inch longer and has a slight bend formed into it.  That is because on the 1949-52 Chevy the mirror is mounted on the center divider of the windshield, while on the 1953-57 the mirror mounts on a curved mount near the top of the windshield.
