This 1953-1954 Chevy Compatible Ignition set is not original to any Chevy or GM vehicles of any year. However, this particular lock and key set can replace the 1953 and 1954 Chevy Ignition Switch. This Ignition set fits well and works well. Ideal for you Rat Rod or cheaper Chevy build. The fit and function is the same, retaining bezel is interchangeable with the original, the electrical connection is identical to the original.
If your car is a “concourse” restoration, you definitely would not want to use this switch. The reasoning for that comment is just one thing. The key does not look anything like the original GM key.
